How do I get to the conference?

The following airlines have service to Asheville:

How do I get from the airport to the campus?

Depending on your arrival time, a shuttle from the conference will pick you up at the airport (as well as return you to the airport at the conclusion of the conference)!  However, if you arrive afterhours or are departing extremely early in the morning, cabs, Uber, and Lyft are all available.

 

Where will I stay during the conference?

A block of rooms is reserved under “Project Connect” at Holiday Inn Biltmore West.  These rooms will be discounted for conference participants.  The hotel is conveniently located directly across the street from the Asheville School campus.  A shuttle will run from this hotel to the conference at the beginning and the end of each day.  If you would like to stay at another hotel, that is fine but we will be unable to provide shuttle service. Can you provide recommendations for things to do, see, and eat, if I want to stay for the weekend after the conference concludes?

Asheville is surrounded by National Forest and dozens of wonderful day hikes are accessible from The Blue Ridge Parkway.   Maps available upon arrival!  Additionally, the famous Biltmore Estate is a popular destination, as is the Grove Park Inn.  Both downtown Asheville and The River Arts District provide fun sightseeing, best on foot, or try a La Zoom Bus Tour! Will I need to pay additionally for meals during the conference?

All meals are included in your conference fee.  Project Connect takes great pride in offering delicious, local fare at every meal.  We aspire to provide our participants with food which really speaks to the “Asheville Experience,” beginning with our inaugural dinner, catered by 12 Bones BBQ.   Additionally, we make sure to provide plenty of yummy vegetarian and vegan options as well!   Finally, since Asheville is known as “Beer City, USA” we take our brews seriously!  Look for local, handcrafted beers and ales at every evening gathering.  For those nonbeer drinkers, wine and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available.  If you plan to stay in town after the conference, see our Area Attractions page for restaurant and brewery recommendations.

 

What can I expect the weather to be in Asheville in June?

Typically, weather in Asheville in June will be highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s.  Since we are located in the mountains, mornings and evenings can be chilly!  Bring a sweater, a raincoat (and umbrella) and good walking shoes!  Comfort is key to both exploring Asheville and to participating in Project Connect!  We are a casual community and there is no need for dressy, formal clothing.

 

How much free time will I have during the conference?

You will have free time at the hotel each morning before the conference begins (breakfast starts at 8 0’clock) and in the evening, at the end of the day.  Otherwise, plan on participating in a fun, dynamic and jam packed conference! 

 

What about Wifi?

Complimentary Wifi will be provided on campus during the conference.
